If you have any interest in getting the city to address the skateboard problem in the neighborhood, please come to a meeting on Monday, July 18 at 5:30 at the Sylvan Firehouse. Bureau of Transportation Director Tom Miller, along with engineering staff, have agreed to meet with us.
We are also working on getting representatives from Police and Parks & Rec to attend. We expect to discuss rumble strips and other possible engineering approaches to get skateboarders to stop weaving, speeding, and running stop signs as they come down Fairview and other streets. It would be helpful if we have a good turn-out of residents who can share their own experiences.
