Before dawn on July 12, 2026, a human-caused fire destroyed the “Bear House” in Washington Park and engulfed several trees. Thanks to an alert neighbor and prompt response by Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) the fire was contained within hours. AHNA urges all neighbors to learn and take recommended actions that make homes and yards resistant to wildfire.
